Bill Boortz has been a real estate appraiser since the early 1990’s. After starting with primarily residential appraisal work for lending support, Bill worked for both the Grand and Douglas County, Colorado Assessor’s Offices. During this time, Bill became competent in the appraisal of all types of real property.
In 1998, Bill went to work for the internationally recognized appraisal firm of Hunsperger & Weston, Ltd. The opportunity to work alongside industry leaders in the valuation of complex real property provided valuable experience.
In 2011, Bill was appointed to the State of Colorado Conservation Easement Oversight Commission by Governor John Hickenlooper. Bill was re-appointed to the CEOC by Governor Hickenlooper in 2014.
Bill has taught a variety of courses related to the valuation of complex property and perpetual conservation easements. Bill is designated as an MAA by the National Association of Appraisers. Bill is also a member of the Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts.
Bill grew up in Michigan, enjoys a variety of sports, and loves animals.
